This explains multidimensional aspect of Suicide, a complex, multidimensional phenomenon that has been studied from socio-demographical perspective. This study examine socio-demographic characteristic of these subjects. The study was conducted in multi specialty hospital during the period of one year after obtaining ethical clearance for the study from the institutional ethical committee, all unit chiefs of clinical side, casualty medical officer and staff nurses in charge of the emergency care department are informed about this study. They were requested to inform investigator whenever a case of suicidal attempt is admitted. Housewives and student formed majority in the study. Poisoning (73%) was the most common method used for suicidal attempt, followed by drug overdose (21%). Benzodiazepine was most commonly used drug for overdose.
